12 Natural Ways to Relieve Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a common autoimmune skin condition. Psoriasis develops when the immune system misidentifies a normal skin cell as a pathogen and sends out erroneous signals, resulting in an overproduction of new skin cells. The cause of Psoriasis is unknown, but it is thought to have a genetic component.

Psoriasis impacts about 1 in every 50 people at some point in their lives. The condition is usually chronic and ranges in severity from minor localized patches to complete body coverage. It appears as thick, red, scaly patches on the skin’s surface that can become inflamed and start bleeding.
Many people mistakenly believe it is contagious, which adds to the patients’ stigma and causes mental suffering and isolation on top of the physical ordeal.

In Psoriasis, a specific type of white blood cell attacks healthy skin cells, causing them to die. The unexpected death accelerates skin cells’ growth cycle, causing them to reach the skin’s outer layer faster than they would otherwise. Simultaneously, dead cells are not removed quickly enough, resulting in a pileup and unsightly patches.
There are various treatments for Psoriasis, but they are frequently ineffective or have numerous side effects. Steroids, for example, treat inflammation, but due to their side effects, you can only use them for short periods or intermittently. However, there are other, more natural alternatives.

Many psoriasis patients are constantly looking for psoriasis treatments, and while there is currently no cure for Psoriasis, the following psoriasis treatments can help control the symptoms:

1.Capsaicin Cream

Cayenne pepper contains the active ingredient capsaicin.

2.Apple Cider Vinegar

3.Baking Soda

Baking soda has excellent cleansing properties, and its alkalinity in a warm bath soothes these skin irritations. Soak for 20 minutes in a bath containing 1/2 – 1 cup of baking soda. Alternatively, to relieve itching, combine 1 1/2 cups baking soda with 3 gallons of water and apply to itchy patches with a dampened washcloth. It would help if you did this cleansing several times.

4.Coconut Oil

A standard recommendation is to include two tablespoons of virgin coconut oil in your diet every day. It can be added to smoothies or spread on toast. 5. Dead Sea Salt Bath

Soaking in an Epsom bath can help relieve irritated and itchy skin. To reap the benefits, add 1-2 cups to your bath water and soak for at least 15 minutes, 2-3 times per week. For this purpose, you can also use Dead Sea salt. Apply a moisturizer to your skin after you get out of the tub.

6.Colloidal Oatmeal Bath

Colloidal oatmeal is ground oats that have been finely ground. When added to bathwater, it forms a milky dispersion that keeps the oatmeal from settling quickly. You can make it at home by chopping the oatmeal into a fine powder that dissolves easily in a lukewarm bath. Colloidal oatmeal moisturizes and soothes itchy, scratchy, and dry skin. Whenever possible, take a lukewarm bath before going to bed.

7.Omega 3 Fish oil

According to research, taking omega-3 fish oil every day may help people living with Psoriasis. Because of its anti-inflammatory qualities, omega-3 fatty acids can help with Psoriasis.

8.Aloe Vera

According to preliminary research, applying pure aloe vera gel to psoriasis symptoms may reduce redness and scaling. Put it over the affected area up to three times per day.

9.Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has antiseptic properties. While there has been no scientific research on Psoriasis’s effectiveness, some people report that their symptoms have improved after using it.

10.Turmeric
